My Year of Knitting and Giving

I don't really make New Year's Resolutions anymore. They fall flat by February and I feel like I've failed and that's not productive in the slightest. I do, however, make goals that are realistic. I have been knitting for about 10 years and this year, I made a goal that would not only allow me to indulge in my favorite hobby, but also help me think outside of myself. This year, I've challenged myself to knit at minimum one gift a month (I'm on gift number three this month!) Not only does knitting relax me, but creating something for someone allows me time to think about them, pray for them, and to spend time not thinking about myself and all that I have going on. I challenge each of you to find a way to think about others and even create unique gifts for them. When I started reading Those Heavenly Days, a blog by busy mama and actress, Katherine Heigl, who frequently crafts for others, I knew I had the time to do so as well. If you are also a knitter or crocheter, I highly suggest checking out ravelry.com for patterns and gift inspiration!
