My Five Favorite Books of the Summer

I'm a big reader. I love books--so much so that my husband and daughter gifted me a Book of the Month Membership for Mother's Day, which has been amazing. I love reading new books that I never would have chosen on my own! Here are my favorites this summer: Goodbye Vitamin by Rachel Khong Adulting is hard--even harder following a breakup and moving back home to help care for a father with dementia. This book is funny, sweet, and oh so real. It is a short read too, so perfect if you need a quick book to read in one sitting. Final Girls by Riley Sager I love a good thriller and true crime. This was an amazing thriller that chronicles the life of Quincy Carpenter, the sole survivor of a savage attack that leaves her friends dead. If you like scary stories, a good mystery, and phenomenal twists and turns--this book is for you. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman This book was phenomenal. Due to childhood tragedy, Eleanor lives an isolated life and is very diligent in her daily activities, not straying from her routine with little social interaction. After a man falls outside of the grocery store, other people are thrown into her life and Eleanor learns to deal with her past and move forward. This is such a beautiful and funny book. I have been recommending it and singing its praises to EVERYONE who will listen! A Million Junes by Emily Henry Technically a YA novel, I was enamored with this book-a love story with magic, this book was captivating and the perfect escape from reality. I loved the main characters and the mythical aspect. This is a beautiful story which I enjoyed reading on my deck in the evenings. The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena I love, love, love a good psychological thriller and mystery. As a mom, when I heard about this book, I was hesitant to read it--parents' baby goes missing in the night--a nightmare. However, this was more than this. It is so devious, with so many twists and turns, I couldn't put it down. The summer is coming swiftly to an end, so grab a good book and get reading! There are other great reads that I loved, so if you need a suggestion, let me know!
