Representation Matters: A New Doll Helps Kids Build Self Confidence

My daughter loves books and loves dolls that look like her. Her latest obsession? Super Beauty!

Created by artist, TiffanyJ to promote high self esteem in girls, this talking doll offers positive phrases to boost self confidence. The goal of this doll is to empower girls and strives to deflect the mental and emotional stresses that affect girls battling bullies and depression. TiffanyJ is on a mission to prevent girls from developing depression like she did.

"As a child, I was super shy, intimidated, and had a lonesome personality," notes TiffanyJ. "I suffered badly with depression and had thoughts of suicide multiple times from as early as twelve years old. My silence was mistakenly recognized as being quiet, when in actuality, it was a loud internal cry. It took me 30 years to truly understand the greatness within me, but it should never take another girl nearly that long."

The doll that my daughter loves is part of a larger movement. TiffanyJ created the Super Beauty Mascot who travels the country to inspire young girls at schools, churches, camps, etc.

We are a family of readers and there's nothing my daughter loves more than a good book. Super Beauty Saves the Day is a new hit in our house and she is thrilled to have the doll to act it out. Personally, I'm always eager for her to have more books and toys that look like her, especially those that have such a compelling message.

The doll will officially launch sometime in August, but you can preorder yours here. TiffanyJ isn't going to be done after the release of the doll. In fact, a digital cartoon movie and bedroom decor, coloring books, etc. are in the works!
